Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction. Why isn't the FCC over it??

According to the AP, the Supreme Court wants a lower court's decision to throw out a $550,000 fine against CBS for the infamous Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction during the 2004 Super Bowl to be re-examined.

All I want to know is, why?

We live in a day and age in which drug use is shown on TV, violence is glorified, and sex is sensationalized. So why do we get so uptight about an image of Janet Jackson's breast that only lasted nine-sixteenths of a second?

Where you at all offended by Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction at the Super Bowl?

Why do you think the FCC has been prude over this issue, yet allows trashy reality TV with ménage trios, music videos that demean women, and cop shows with drug and gun violence to air on TV? Comment below.

I'm always confused why some things get censored and worse things do not. I wasn't offended, I barely remember.

It always made me sad to see Janet Jackson portrayed as the bad guy and not enough as a victim with this. She was clearly embarrassed by what happened.

I don't think the court should have dismissed the fine in the first place. The FCC has rules and CBS didn't abide by them, even if it was supposedly "accidental". They pay fines all the time. Let them pay up and get on with it.

Yeah, I agree. The FCC is crazy. No need for such a ridiculous fine when they allow cursing, nudity, sex and violence on television. Always have and probably always will! Great post!

Hey I'm over it, but on the other hand it takes a while for these things to move up to the supreme court. You certainly don't think they would fast track a wardrobe malfunction!
