Ashton Kutcher has bid his Just Married co-star and ex-girlfriend Brittany Murphy goodbye where else, but on his Twitter page.
This morning Brittany Murphy died after suffering a cardiac arrest in her shower. Earlier this afternoon Ashton Kutcher Tweet'd "2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine. My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany’s family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon" followed by, "see you on the other side kid."
I'm torn about Ashton Kutcher using Twitter to say a final goodbye to a loved one. It almost feels impersonal and fake to do it as a status message. Why not be more private about it and give Brittany Murphy's family time to recover, before broadcasting his thoughts to his Twitter fans? But perhaps Ashton Kutcher felt the world was immediately waiting to find out what he had to say, so he felt the need to broadcast his goodbye.
Do you think it's appropriate to use Twitter as a platform to say goodbye the day a loved one dies? Or is there a certain waiting period before including your internet followers in the loop?
