Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie put their money where their hearts are by donating a whopping one million bucks to help Haiti. The funds went directly to Doctors Without Borders for the organization's many operations in the earthquake ravaged nation.
Doctors Without Borders experienced loss and damage to three of their hospitals when the 7.0 earthquake hit Haiti on Tuesday.
Angelina Jolie told People.com, "It is incredibly horrible to see a catastrophe of this size hit a people who have been suffering from extreme poverty, violence and unrest for so many decades.
Brad Pitt commented in a statement, "We understand the first response is critical to serve the immediate needs of countless people who are now displaced from their homes, are suffering trauma, and most require urgent care."
This is not the first time the famous couple has helped in a time of great need. Their donation of two million dollars went to Ethiopia two years ago in 2008 for the purpose of assisting children in Ethiopia in Africa afflicted with AIDS as well as with tuberculosis.
