Super Bowl viewers got a surprise when they saw a Super Bowl ad that ran on CBS with rivals Jay Leno, David Letterman, and Oprah Winfrey. Longtime rivals the three, Leno, Letterman (CBS) and Winfrey were sitting on a couch together watching the Super Bowl and trying to be friends. They didn't look to thrilled about it, but it was a stroke of genius.
Letterman mutters, "This is the worst Super Bowl party ever."
Leno counters with, "just saying that because I'm here."
The ad was taped secretly at New York City's Ed Sullivan Theatre, home of Letterman's "Late Show." Next month, March after the NBC airs the Vancouver Olympics, Jay Leno returns to the the "Tonight Show" and the rivalry resumes, but until then, they are just folks watching the Super Bowl.
