I was amazed at the nasty comments made about this video on YouTube. I don't care what you think of Cheney, wishing him bad health or worse is rude and unkind to him and to his family.
I enjoyed seeing him at CPAC, and enjoyed his and Liz Cheney's humor. I pray that his chest pains don't mean it's something serious.

Yeah, but we are the dangerous ones . . . they are just exercising their first ammendment rights. :(
Sorry...couldn't resist.
No matter how mis-guided a person may be or not be, we have no right to judge. I believe I learned that in Sunday School. Along with "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" didn't you also learn "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."???
Leaves all of out, doesn't it?
But Ellie, you have a perfect right to judge actions; we do that everyday in a variety of ways. For instance, most of us judged Tiger Woods as an adulterer; and we were correct and within our rights. If a "friend" always missed appointments and lied all the time, I'd judge her/him to be untrustworthy and faithless; because that's what his/her actions show me and the world. Which is the only thing we can judge, the things we see. We can judge them right or wrong.
But we're out of our pervue if we try to judge Tiger's heart or what his future will be ... or even the whys and wherefores of his past because we don't have all the info and his "story" if you will, is incomplete.
It's a whole complicated explanation I won't go into any further but suffice it to say I don't begrudge a little judgement of actions, the things we see men and women do and things we hear them say. . . I'll let someone else say it for me since if I tried, I'd go on and on and lose your attention before I got to the point --- Dave Hunt wrote, "Correction is one of the most conspicuously absent, yet essential ministries in the church today.
There are those who seek to avoid correction by hiding behind a misapplication of Christ's words, "Judge not, lest ye be judged" (Matthew 7:1).
It is strangely forgotten that these words were spoken by the same One who warned the Jews: to not judge according to appearances, but to judge righteous judgment (John 7:24), told us to judge the fruit of prophets (Matthew 7:16) and promised His disciples that they would sit on thrones judging Israel (Matthew 19:28).
From the context and the remainder of Scripture, it seems clear that Christ was warning us not to judge motives, because these are hidden from us. We must put the best reasonable interpretation upon what others say and do, not judging their hearts, nor their Salvation, which only God knows. However according to Scripture, we are obliged to judge doctrines and deeds."

Some people are just non-thinkers. But, then, this is on Faux Noise...

I wonder what his bill would be if he had to purchase medical coverage on the open market.
It is the highest level of hypocrisy. Those opposed to any sort of tax-payer funded health care should put their money where their mouths are and purchase health care for them and their families on the open market.
Do you disagree with me?
It seems to me that since you are already a Fox News viewer, you'd already have seen this news before. So what's the point of posting it here? To chastise people for leaving comments you don't like? Or, were you were cruising around for some video that you could post to your fans that would get them agitated? Or were you just trying to earn some more points on Gather?
Did anyone actually wish Cheney harm? Or did they say they wished he could put himself in the place of people who needed insurance, but can't get any? If so, does that constitute wishing him bad? That would mean that you'd have to admit that it is bad to be without insurance, and therefore those who do not have insurance deserve to be punished thusly?
Personally I believe that wishing for insured people to keep their uninsured status (which is what you advocate when you say you do not want any national health) is more wicked than people wishing harm to a person who IS insured (Former VP Chenesy). Sticks and stones may break Cheney's bones, but being uninsured can be deadly.
When I heard he was hospitalized, my first thought was good, now he can't say something stupid for a while.
I can't say I wish him a speedy recovery, because the longer he's in the hospital the longer we can go without him saying something stoopid!
No I don't wish him to die or anything, I just don't want to hear what he has to say, and since no one would pass me the duct tape to tape, I could only 'wish' that they 'could' sew his mouth shut'......sorry, but Cheney was a thorn in the presidents side, and it became very very apparent that was the case when Cheney couldn't get a pardon for his pal Scooter Libby.
I think the president was right not to pardon Scooter, but it put a larger wedge between the president and the VP.
So while I wish the VP a recovery, I hope that he takes his time, because I'm sick of hearing him run his mouth.
But that's just me.
Mooch
it's ok, I can agree to disagree.....I think Cheney was a huge thorn in the side of the Bush Administration, and while I don't like him, I don't wish him to die....I just wish he'd keep his mouth shut....because most of the time lately when he opens it, he's just spouting off about some thing or another and does not really say anything of substance or of any importance.
But I do know if he goes down he'll take anyone and everyone he can when he goes down.....
Mooch
That's your choice .. . But as a result of that choice, you asked a question which would have been answered had you gone to the video ... but then it would have been hard to make the rest of your comments since they are based on the premise that the comments on the video were rather bland and nondescript ("Did anyone actually wish Cheney harm? Or did they say they wished he could put himself in the place of people who needed insurance, but can't get any? If so, does that constitute wishing him bad?").
There are a lot of stupid comments on a lot of You Tube videos. Surely you have better uses for your time. Don't you?
And that would be Marilyn's choice; her Gather account, her time, her choice. +shrug+ What's the big deal with Marilyn making her own choices of what to post or what not to post? Same as what color her hair is or what she has for dinner or where she spends her money ... all her choice.
You made yours, she makes hers. I really don't see the problem here.

Marilyn, is cruising around for something to be offended about your full time occupation? Or just a side line? ;-)

So one kook wished Cheney dead. (That is, IF they really said that.) Big deal. Lee, do you think it is a good use of my time to go searching for that comment? I know my time is worth more than that. It is the same thing as, when people email around rumors, and don't bother to check it out on Snopes before I sent it. I have a friend who is "famous" for hitting the forward button without checking it out. It is rude.
Sue, you just did. ("Waste time with Koko") ROFL!
Sorry I don't like the man, and I think he made things worse for Bush his second term.
He holds a grudge and he will take anyone down he can if he goes down!
Mooch
It's the hypocrisy of Dick Cheney BERF that brings out these type of comments.
I only wish Dick Cheney had to buy his health coverage on the open market. Then the old fart might have a little compassion for those lacking his wonderful tax-payer funded health care.
Both Bush and Cheney made a lot of mistakes, but if Obama keeps up, he is going to make both of them look like perfect President and VP.
I wish Cheney the best.
So, that makes Slick Willy a saint??
I believe they were being posted today on their site.
Besides, they realize the the MAJORITY of Americans are smart enough to not want the government controlling their health. And the majority are smart enough to not want to reduce health care, increase wait time, increase premiums and increase taxes for the 8 million who truly cannot afford to see a doctor. Those few could be added to an existing program. And the other 22 million need to be taught how to be responsible for themselves and their families.
I would never wish death or pain on anyone simply because I don't like them. It's just wrong.
