Shakira didn't sing. yesterday. Instead, she toured Washington, D.C. for the sake of helping Latin American children.
The Grammy winner launched a limited-edition line of products at the Hard Rock Café to help fund her Pies Descalzos Foundation, an arm of her Barefoot Foundation benefiting children. As part of the goods ready to put up for auction for this cause, Shakira autographed a number of her She Wolf t-shirts from her new line of fashion wear be found at the Hard Rock Cafe in the nation's capital and at all other Hard Rocks Cafes around the United States.

Prior to the Hard Rock Cafe visit, Shakira visited with President Obama at the White House. As UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, this philanthropist/pop star had the ear of Barack Obama as she talked about her concerns regarding needy kids in Latin America, including the Caribbean.
During Shakira's day in D.C., she also stopped by the World Bank to send out a message that her goal of 300 million dollars for the development of childhood programs in Latin America and the Caribbean must be reached in the next two years.
There, the singer said, "If we want to build a better world, we have to give children the chance to improve their lives, no matter where they are born or how difficult their circumstances. By giving every child a fair start in life, we are improving our collective future," Shakira told the press.
Visitors to Washington, D.C. can see what Shakira saw by touring the White House and the World Bank and by enjoying a meal and a chance to experience some excellent memorabilia (like an authentic Elvis Presley DEA jogging suit and a hat worn by John Lennon of the Beatles) at the Hard Rock Cafe.
