Charlie Sheen Is Denied a Pl
ea Bargain
Charlie Sheen's arraignment is coming up next Monday, and his show on the line. So it only makes sense that he's ready to plea bargain his felony case against wife Brooke Mueller in Aspen. But not so fast, Charlie -- prosecutors aren't eager to deal.
TMZ reports that the Two And A Half Men star is willing to plead no contest to misdemeanor charges, AND to get probation and attend anger management classes (instead of going to jail). But authorities in Pitkin County, CO are unwilling to negotiate, despite Brooke Mueller not wanting to testify against Sheen.
The district attorney's office is actually threatening to prosecute Brooke Mueller for perjury if she doesn't stand by her sworn affidavit. Mueller, whose credibility is in question because of treatment for substance abuse and a blood alcohol level of .13 at the time of Sheen's arrest, could pose serious problems for the prosecution.
What exactly are all the charges against Sheen? Felony menacing, 3rd degree assault, and criminal mischief. If he's found guilty of a felony, he could face jail time, to say the least.
