Alvin and the Chipmunks, Creator's family file...

Not everyone is happy in Chipmunk Land. Janice Karman, the daughter in law of Alvin and The Chipmunks creator, Ross Bagdasarian claims to have completed a substantial amount of work on the script for the latest film Alvin and The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, but was never compensated for it even though much of her script made it into the movie. Bagdasarian Productions has hired a firm to handle the lawsuit and they are seeking half the profits from the movie.

Alvin and The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel brought in $442 million which is far from a paltry sum. Fox stated that the claim was merit-less and that they looked forward to resolving differences and in the meantime will continue to move forward with the franchise. Guess fans will be getting another "squeakquel". I just hope they don't run this into the ground as we have seen happen with so many other Movie Franchises.

Ah, why can't they just pay her, really, with all that money they made, gee whiz. Why do people let it go to this point?

This is probably a good example of the reason an age old addage was created in the first place....The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer....I suppose this might be why...lol, but I agree. I think they should just pay her. She did the work, and she should be compensated.

very much agree. Dont know if I think a script is worth 200+ million though..lol

Well, I can totally see your point there, but monetary estimates aside, I think she should get "something"....

If part of her script was used, she should get the money she's owed. I would be pretty upset if someone used my writing for a movie, and didn't give me a dime.
