One day Justin Bieber is dead and the next he's alive and well...accept for the fact that he has syphilis. At least that's what the web wants you to believe. I think I've heard the same "Bieber is dead hoax" a few times in less than a year. Now internet users are trying to figure out whether or not he has an STD. (It's currently the biggest trending topic on Google and Twitter.)
While the internet and social networks are helpful for quickly spreading information (e.g. promoting an event, a business, etc), it's also harmful for that same exact reason. It gets to a point that you hear so many false rumors, that you come to question the stories that are true. When I heard Gary Coleman was in the hospital on his deathbed, I figured it was just lie that someone made up. I had to read several stories from reliable sources before I was convinced.
But many of you could care less about the transmission of rumors. You still want to know whether or not Justin Bieber has syphilis. I can't answer yes or no on this because I'm not his personal physician. But because it's such a personal issue, we should all just ignore it, unless the information came straight from the source. I'm not aware of any press conferences that Justin Bieber held making this announcement, so I think we can all assume it's not true.
What's the worst celebrity rumor you ever fell for?
