Teen sensation Miley Cyrus is in the forefront of the media frenzy once again, this time for an outfit that she wore at the MuchMusic Video Awards. OK so I may not be the #1 Miley Cyrus fan but I was once (OK and maybe still am) a fan of Britney Spears. When she was 16 and 17? She dressed the same exact way - maybe even worse. What people fail to remember is that these girls? Are entertainers. Think of these sexy lingerie leotards as costumes and let's move on.
Cyrus is 17 years old and whether someone thinks that's too young to be dressing a certain way, the truth is that the youth in America don't stay young for long anymore. Kids are wearing makeup to school in SIXTH GRADE! This is
happening people!
And sure, you can make the argument that these kids have Miley Cyrus as a role model but I have to correct you. I loved (yes, I know, still do) Britney Spears all through high school and I didn't change the way I dressed or acted. I didn't roll my shirt up and wear "booty shorts." I did my own thing. Then I went blond in college.
I just don't know why people come down so hard on these teenage celebrities.
The black outfit was her performance "costume" and is the one people are shaking their heads at. I found another one of her in the white leotard number, and some of her who-ha was visible. Not good.

Parents today put their child in front of the TV figuring the TV will entertain them. To idolize a cartoon character would be better just knowing the cartoon character will never change but the child will one day grow out of it.
To the parents that go on and on and on how Miley is dressing and OMG what their child is going to think or "thanks alot Miley now my child wants to dress just like You" is NOT in the least Miley's fault. Parents just "love" to shift the blame where blame does not belong. The blame lays on you. You are the parent, why isn't your child idolizing you instead? well, that's because it shows, your not spending enough time with your child and using the TV as your baby sitter simple as that.
These young girls do grow up and want to explore their own sexuality. What's wrong with that? If a person doesn't like it, change the channel. Put on sponge bob and move on. Celebrities are not responsible for YOUR children. YOU are. You are suppose to have full control in what they do and what they watch on TV. Take the remote away, and computer if necessary and be a parent.
Great post btw- I always loved brittany too and although she had a few bumps in the road herself, hopefully she comes around and shows how she got a hold of things. I think she was highly taken advantage of from Keven Federline who knew exactly what he was doing while breaking Britneys heart leading her down the road of destruction entirely. Love can be so blind especially at the tender age she was at. I still like her though and probably always will.
