Yet again, the daytime queen Oprah Winfrey is the target of a nasty internet rumor. I'm all for gossip in the entertainment world, but when we see stuff like "justin bieber pregnant" and "oprah removes sixth toe" it makes us all feel the internet is even more unreliable for information. The latest Google Hot trend has "oprah rigs votes against zach anner" as the hottest search online right now. This is likely based on a current contest Oprah has going on, where Zach is one of the top contestants.
Bloggers and writers have been calling Zach Anner "Oprah's replacement" once she leaves daytime television. Zach is currently a contestant in the "Oprah's Search for the Next TV Star" contest. He is wheelchair-bound and has cerebral palsy, and sent in his hilarious video to enter the contest. Zach is a well spoken, inspirational, humorous and informational young man. He calls his condition "cerebral palsy" the "sexiest of the palsies" out there!
Below you can watch Zach talking about the various TV show ideas he had, but how they failed. Finally he says "no obstacle is too big" and talks about his final TV show idea to replace Oprah Winfrey's daytime talk show. If he doesn't win, someone's gotta sign this guy to something, he seems like a star in the making. Wouldn't be surprised if MTV snatches him up for some sort of show!
So the whole Oprah rigs votes against Zach Anner trend is probably someone questioning why Zach is losing the vote right now. Currently a female contestant named "Dr. Phyllis" is beating Zach by over 600,000 votes right now. Check out the top vote-getters here where you can also see their video entries. Voting has not closed yet, so there's no rigged votes that I know of. Vote for the contestant you like best, and Zach Anner still has a chance to win this thing!
If you're interested in entering Oprah's contest check out more info here at her official site for the Next TV Star. The winner(s) will get their own show on Oprah's new TV network.

If Zach got first place in the votes, and then Oprah chose Phyllis, she'd be accused of "hating the disabled." But if Zach is in second place, Oprah can just say, "I chose the person with the most votes!" It's a devious ploy.
I certainly don't think Oprah herself is "evil," but I guarantee you that she and her peons would rather not have to explain away Zach's being passed over.
few questions:
1 - how do you know it's Oprah manipulating it?
2 - have you heard of online websites being hacked before?
3 - maybe the top vote-getter really is getting a lot of votes!
With regards to websites getting hacked... 4chan, the main website that does that sort of thing, is behind Zach 100%; you'd never see the internet or Anon hacking in favor of Dr. Phyllis.
Again, it's politically expedient for the people running the contest to knock Zach to second place. It keeps them from having to deal with difficult questions and accusations later, and I think they didn't expect anyone to notice. Too bad for them that we did. Anon is legion. Anon sees all.
It concerns me that Phyllis is getting a lot of votes in a matter of seconds and I hope that it is due to tallying and not cheating....
Here's to Zach.. I'm rooting for him
Everyone deserves a fair contest.
Also, yes, there are plenty of explanations for how the votes are moving, but that doesn't explain why the website's coding is the way it is (which to me is the main point of suspicion).
Hopefully John Mayer (one of Zach's biggest fans and supporters) will have something to say about this that will get the media to sit up and pay attention.
