Burlesque icon, Dita Von Teese, walked the runway at the Jean-Paul Gaultier Fall/Winter 2010/11 show at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. In signature Von Teese style, she started off with more on than she finished with.
Her catwalk appearance began with a glamorous, black, old Hollywood style gown and headpiece. The only thing missing was a cigarette in a long cigarette holder.
Of course, with Von Teese being Von Teese, and Gaultier being Gaultier, things had to progress from there. Von Teese shed the glamorous dress, eventually passing the skirt off to an audience member, which revealed her corseted thong bodysuit, and garter stockings, that left little to the imagination.
Jean-Paul walked down the runway with Dita at the end of the show, after replacing the typical “bridal†look people tend to expect at the end of fashion collections with a model in a strange white dress, playing the violin. Not a shock, as with Jean-Paul Gaultier, if you can count on one thing, it’s that he’ll defy convention. Dita Von Teese's strip tease was a perfect choice for the highlight of Gaultier’s couture show.
