Singer Katy Perry will be releasing a brand new perfume called Purr. Reportedly the Perry-inspired scent hits Nordstrom's website and stores in the fall. It will be sold in a special cat-shaped bottle as well.
Perry's new fragrance will be a mixture of peach, apple, green bamboo, jasmine blossom and freesia combined with rose, vanilla, orchild, white amber, sandalwood and musk. The singer said she was excited about the news of what she was working on, but had to keep it a secret from fans.
Asked about the inspiration for her perfume, Perry said:
"I really wanted to develop a scent that was completely unlike anything I'd smelled before and not one that smelled like a knockoff of another scent."
"All things edible for me are also intriguing. So if there are little dancing strawberries, I will be happy. Peppermint is cute; cotton candy is adorable. We like to keep it cute and classy."
Perry almost seems to have based the fragrance on her risque music video "California Gurls" which includes the singer in a Candy Land style paradise. There's all sorts of eye candy in the video, literally and figuratively. Now she's got a new scent to go with it.
Speaking of Perry's music, her new album "Teenage Dream" will be arriving on August 23rd. The cover artwork was recently revealed during a live UStream video, in which Perry unveiled a 6x6 canvas painting of it. All that can be said about the freshly-painted cover is that Perry is wearing strategically placed candy floss. She's also said that it will smell like cotton candy inside. Seems to "tie in" with the whole Candyland music video!
