Chelsea Clinton's wedding

The wedding of the year between former first daughter Chelsea Clinton and Mark Merzinsky is today. The world is waiting. The event is said to take place in Rhinebeck, New York, and paparazzi are not welcome.

The wedding is said to set daddy Clinton back some $3 million dollars. The wedding is on the Hudson River front estate mansion, and two helicopter pads have been installed for the event to fly in high profile guests. Some guests will arrive by lowly transportation such as buses and stay at local inns.

The Friday night wedding rehearsal took place in a barn at Grasmere according to Radar Online.

The Guest list is said to include Oprah Winfrey, Barbra Streisand, and Tom Hanks. President Barack Obama will not attend. Chelsea Clinton is now 30 years old and is marrying her childhood sweetheart. Mezinsky is 32 and an investment banker for Goldman Sachs.

The New York wedding doesn't sound like the typical wedding even for so-called down home folks like the Clintons.  Remember when Chelsea was an awkward teenager? Now she has grown into such a lovely young lady, and she's all grown up. What a lovely day she will have. Security will be tight.  The town of Rhinebeck, New York is thrilled to hold this wedding.

I saw on the news that they had porcelain port-a-potties at $15000 a pop. crazy!

It do think it's a little over the top but since I am not paying for it I really don't care. I don't understand all the interest though.

I'm sure the wedding brought lots of money into the town, which has to be good for their economy.

But aren't the Democrats always claiming they are for the little people? The only little people at that wedding are the servants.

Actually, Bill and St. Hillary are footing the bill. Plus I heard that the area where the wedding is has been designated a NO FLY zone until 3 am ET.

It just seems soooooo incredible....I keep thinking about the millions of homeless people throughout the country that could really use some of those big, big bucks....but then, I'm entirely TOO practical.........it just seems like such a huge waste of money.......they could have had a very elegant wedding for much, much less......if they had really wanted........

I'm really sick of hearing about the wedding. And It was a HUGE inconvenience with blocked roads, no fly zones, high secrecy, etc, etc.

And a bottle of 'complimentary' wine is supposed to make it all better.
I'm glad I didn't live there, I probably would have protested the wedding.

Some people like ot flaunt their money, look at Al Gore.

I think she made a pretty bride. I was surprised that neither converted to the others faith. I think this will become a complication as time passes by. I do wish them the best of luck.
