Actress Emma Thompson was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles, CA on Friday. Thompson’s is the 2416th star to be awarded on the sidewalk of Hollywood Boulevard. On hand to celebrate Emma Thompson’s inclusion on the Walk of Fame were actor Hugh Laurie, actress Maggie Gyllenhaal, and a pig.

So, why was a pig there to celebrate Emma Thompson’s success? Most likely due to the placement of the star. Emma’s star is located just outside of the Pig ‘n Whistle pub. Interestingly enough, Friday’s event was not the first time the Oscar winner was seen in the company of a pig. Thompson also appeared with a pig at the March UK premiere of the latest Nanny McPhee movie, Nanny McPhee Returns (aka Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang) which opens in the states later this month.
Congratulations to Emma Thompson for earning a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The honor is certainly well-deserved.
