When Justin Timberlake was asked to be the face of Givenchy's Play for Him fragrance, no one thought anything of it. Arguably one of the sexiest (and most recognizable) faces in Hollywood - if not the world - who better to represent the company's new campaign? When Givenchy asked Timberlake to promote Play for Her, the women's counterpart, however, he was a bit caught off guard.
"I said, 'You guys should go find a woman to help put this out,’†the singer/actor/all-around entertainer told WWD.
Despite his initial reaction, though, Timberlake changed his tune upon hearing more about the Givenchy campaign. The concept, set in the City of Lights with a pseudo old-school dream feel to it, made sense of his role next to New Moon star Noot Seear, and Timberlake was sold.
Both fragrances, debuting in October, will be housed in a bottle reminiscent of a music player (hence the names Play for Him and Play for Her), and will be available in 30ml size for $48.
What do you think of the choice of having Timberlake represent both the mens and womens campaign? Will you be picking up a bottle?
