Earlier on Wednesday, the internet was buzzing over the rumors that rap producer Timbaland had engaged in a suicide attempt. This came on the heels of news that the celebrity music star had fled his home earlier after a watch had been stolen worth an estimated $2 million.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Timbaland called up Ryan Seacrest to deny that he had ever contemplated suicide. Timbaland is quoted as saying on Seacrest's radio show for KIIS-FM:
“I don’t even know what happened, to be honest. I don’t know what people are talking about,†the superproducer said, adding, “Why would I commit suicide?â€
Timbaland also added that it was true he had been robbed but it wasn't for a watch. Timbaland noted that he decided to take a drive to figure out how to handle the theft incident, but again there was no thoughts of or plan for a suicide. So somehow the story got altered.
Timbaland is a popular producer with plenty of money, making it hard to believe he'd want to claim his life. He's had troubles with weight in the past but embraced fitness and got himself in great shape. With this suicide rumor it really seems like a secondhand story that got out of hand. Luckily, Timbaland is still alive and kicking beats for the masses. Hopefully he can catch that thief and get his property back soon.
