"American Idol" runner up Crystal Bowersox has chosen to delay her new album that was expected to be released by the end of 2010.
Not Rushing for Black Friday
According to MTV, Bowersox opted to wait on the album, taking more time to write and produce the song
s it will include. She says she doesn't want the album released just for the sake of making uber-sales on Black Friday, and instead wants to produce a high quality album.
"I don't think that's right. I want ... not just to have a product, but to have a good product, something that I will be proud of in 10, 15, 20 years," she continued. "My debut album on a major label — it's a huge thing, and I don't want to just put something out there that's thrown together to have something to sell. That's just not right."
Better Life for Son
Crystal Bowersox wowed viewers and fans with her bohemian style and talent. The single mom from Ohio made it clear what she wanted from life, and that was to better her life for the sake of her small son.
"Right now it's very important that work as hard as I possibly can to make this career and life that I want for my son."
Putting off the album may be a good idea, but hopefully Crystal Bowersox won't put it off for too long. The "shelf life" for "American Idol" top notch performers can wax and wane, and it would be a shame for her to lose that recognition.
Crystal Bowersox came in 2nd to Lee DeWyze, who wasn't even considered a viable challenge at the start of last season's competition.
