Actress and talk show host, Whoopi Goldberg brought some sad news with her on The View this morning. As the new season of the talk show began, Goldberg made the grim announcement that her mother, Emma Johnson, had passed away.
Johnson passed away on August 29 after suffering a stroke.
"I'm not sad, because she had a great time. My mother wasa great adventure person, so she loved to go on adventures and my brother and I made sure that her life was full and rich. I think I'm just sad sometimes that I think, 'Who will love me the way that she did?' But I realize that my brother and I have each other and so we're OK" (via The Huffington Post).
It's terrible that Goldberg lost her mother, but the way in which she is feeling is very much admired. Losing ones mother can be very hard and Goldberg is right, who will love you like your mom? No one. But to be able to cherish her life and knowing that she was your mother is a great feeling.
