Amy Poehler returns to SNL this fall as host of the show's season premiere. Saturday Night Live will premiere their 36th season on September 25.
Season Premiere Host
According to MSNBC, Poehler, once a staple on SNL, will host the season opener, with musical guest Katy Perry.

Amy Poehler has received three Emmy Award nominations for her work on the NBC sitcom "Parks and Recreation." She was a regular on Saturday Night Live for several seasons.
In addition to the excitement of Amy Poehler as host, the new season will also debut three new comics to the Saturday Night Live cast. Vanessa Bayer, Paul Brittain, Taran Killam and Jay Pharoah will join the rest of the cast members as regulars on the show.
PerezHilton.com says "Excellent choice!" to SNL's selection of Amy Poehler to host the season's opener. She is undoubtedly one of the funniest female comedians and comic actresses around. The only thing that could possibly top Amy Poehler's hosting SNL would be if she co-hosted with former cast mate Tina Fey.
700 Episodes
SNL was created by Lorne Michaels and Dick Ebersol. It premiered on NBC on October 11, 1975. As of 2010 it was one of the longest running network shows in the United States, and close to 700 episodes had been broadcast. Amy Poehler follows a long line of great comics including Gilda Radner, Jane Curtin, Laraine Newman, Chevy Chase, Eddie Murphy, John Belushi, and more.
