Kirsten Dunst had her purse stolen from her hotel room, and James Jimenez will spend the next four years in state prison for the theft. A jury convicted the thief Monday morning for stealing Dunst's handbag, which is worth $2,000.
The purse is Balenciaga which she had at her Soho Grand Suite. He also took other expensive items. He was convicted of the June 2007 theft, but maintains his innocence.
The prosecutor wanted Jimenez to get seven and half years, but the judge had mercy and only gave him four years.
His accomplice got the same amount of time in 2008. He plead guilty to attempted burglary, but Eonline points out that he could have already served two of the years on a lesser charge had he pleaded guilty.
What is troubling about the case, is that Jimenez continues to protest his innocence, so why should he have plead otherwise? Plea deals stink.
So did Kirsten Dunst get her purse back? No one says whether or not she did get it back, and would she want it back after someone else had it? It's an interesting case, and it's probably a big relief for the beautiful Dunst to have it over and done with for her and for Jimenez.
