Makeda Jahnesta Marley, daughter to famed raggae singer has pleaded guilty to growing marijuana. Makeda Jahnesta Marley is the youngest of Bob Marleyâ€™s children.
Crimesider states that Makeda Jahnesta Marley, 29, pleaded guilty to growing about 12 marijuana plants which were discovered inside her Philadelphia home. Makeda Jahnesta Marley pleaded guilty during a hearing on Tuesday.
MSNBC reports that Makeda Jahnesta Marley was arrested in 2008 for possession of the plants. Philadelphia police officers arrived at her home because of a domestic dispute call and located the marijuana plants in her basement. Makeda Jahnesta Marleyâ€™s guilty plea will spare her a year in prison. During a Februray hearing, Makeda Jahnesta Marley explained to the court that she was working as a waitress because she had used up a trust fund set up in her name by Bob Marleyâ€™s estate.
According to Mail Online, Bob Marley died at the age of 36 after a battle with cancer. A mere three weeks later Makeda was born to Yvette Crichton. Yvette is only one of several women who Bob Marley has children with. Prosecutors have stated that Makeda Jahnesta Marley will most likely just get probation now.
Well, what can be said of this incident? The apple doesnâ€™t fall far from the pot plant now does it? Bob Marley was well known for his apperciation for marijuana and itâ€™s not a real surprise that his daughter, Makeda Jahnesta Marley has also developed a taste for the drug as well. Kudos to her for being able to get away with growing and profiting from her pot plants. If the law gives her probation then congratulations are in order!
