The first of two nights at Yankee Stadium spelled success for Jay-Z and Eminem, as they took hip-hop home to the Bronx, where the musical form originated.
According to MSN, rapper Eminem made the following statement to the crowd regarding the significance of where the performance was taking place.
Do not think that I don't know where I'm at right now," Eminem told the audience at Monday night's sold out show. "I'm also honored to be on this (expletive) stage in the Bronx, the (expletive) birthplace of hip-hop."
Eminem's hit single "I Love the Way You Lie" brought down the house.
