Michelle Williams' next role, as Marilyn Monroe in My Week with Marilyn, looks like a winner, given the evidence of a newly released photograph of Williams in full Norma Jean mode.
My Week with Marilyn, directed by Simon Curtis (whose previous credits all seem to be TV-related, including various TV movies and an episode of The Practice), tells the story of the making of MM's 1957 film The Prince and the Showgirl ... not necessarily one of her greatest works, but it does co-star Kenneth Branagh as Monroe's co-star Laurence Olivier, along with Emma Watson as "Lucy" (Ball? Nah, probably not), Dominic Cooper, Judi Dench, and Derek Jacobi. So it's got that going for it.
Williams will first see if she's going to get any awards recognition for her generally well-received film with Ryan Gosling, Blue Valentine, which was slapped with the box office poisonous NC-17 rating; its trailer can be seen here.
