The latest news is that Courteney Cox and David Arquette split, ending another well-known Hollywood couple's marriage. The duo had been married for 11 years, and also are co-stars in the "Scream" films by Wes Craven. There's a fourth film looming in which both actors are set to be a part of, but how will they look together on screen? Will the storyline mirror their current situation? And most importantly, what caused this seemingly long-lasting marriage to implode?
What made Courteney Cox and David Arquette split after so many loving years of marriage? Apparently it was Cox who became tired of Arquette and his "kooky ways" as US Magazine reports. David appeared on the Howard Stern Sirius radio show to talk of the split saying "I've been begging Courteney to get back with me." At 46, Cox, the star of "Cougar Town," is seven years Arquette's senior. She's also been photographed with her co-star from the show, as seen in the photo below.
Yes, Arquette is a bizarre sort of guy. He's even tried his hand at pro-wrestling in the past. That may have been what first drew Cox to him. However in recent times Arquette said he had been doing public things which embarrassed his wife. What those were has not been divulged, but we can only imagine! He also notes as they were filming the new "Scream" slasher film he felt distance from his wife and they hadn't been intimate for a month or so. Both actors deny any affairs played a part, but both reportedly were cozy with others.
Ironically this news comes as a former "Friends" co-star has become married, and also as news continues to leak about the upcoming horror pic by Wes Craven. In "Scream 4," Cox's reporter character and Arquette's bumbling reporter are husband and wife, at least according to the last film seen, "Scream 3." Is it possible the former couple will continue with that set of roles, or will they make art imitate their life and have them in the middle of a breakup? They started filming the movie not long ago in Michigan so it will be interesting to see what their relationship's like in the film, and if their "distance" took a toll on how they appear together. Will they look like they went through the motions or like a real couple?
