As Nicole Richie was celebrating her impending marriage to Joel Madden, Christina Aguilera's marriage was falling apart.
Christina's relationship with music exec Jordan Bratman hit the skids when she went to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, for Nicole's bachelorette weekend last month, Page Six reported Wednesday.
Sources told Page Six that "there were already problems between her and her husband, but things got worse after her wild girls' trip."
Insiders also claimed that the two rarely spent time together while she was filming her upcoming movie with Cher, "Burlesque."
That must have been one heck of a trip to derail a marriage! What exactly happened in Cabo? Was it an all-female version of "The Hangover"? (Actually, that would be pretty funny.) But she couldn't have gotten too crazy, since, according to Us Weekly, she was still trying to save the marriage a month earlier.
Christina "Âproposed their August trip to Italy to Ârekindle their relationship, but it didn't help," a source told the magazine.
The two, who met in 2002 and married in '05, announced their separation Tuesday. Sources said that they "have been separated for a few months" but haven't decided whether to divorce, saying "they are now living apart, and they will see how that goes."
The duo have one child, 2-year-old Max.
