Only in Florida: an iPhone thief, with an "I'm Me" tattoo on his forehead might as well have "Stupid" written there, as it was used to identify him in a string of robberies in south Florida.
19-year-old Joseph Eric Williams, is currently on the run, though he has been identified as being the thief in as many as 15 robberies of AT&T stores in Miami area. Other tattoos on his face include a tear drop and a money bag, also on his face.
Crimestoppers offered a $1,000 reward to help find Williams, who walked into the stores, found the iPhone display case and would steal a couple of phones before running out of the store. The value of the iPhones is about $600 a piece. He has robbed stores in Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties.
Though the "I'm me" thief was caught on Wednesday thanks to a tip submitted to Crimestoppers. Â He has been charged with four counts of grand theft.
Williams adds himself to the growing list of "dumb crook of the week" contenders. A lady in Michigan was arrested just this past weekend after burglarizing a house, with her 2-year-old along for the ride. What is this world coming to?
