When we hear the name Lindsay Lohan, it seems as if the name is synonymous with legal troubles and trips to rehab. Were any “common folks†to be given as many chances as she, we'd likely jump at the chance to miss jail for a comfy stay at a rehab. But, according to a report from the Naughty but Nice blog on popeater.com, Lindsay Lohan is unable to afford the $50,000 US to stay the full three months at the Betty Ford Clinic as ordered by a judge Elden Fox in Los Angeles Superior Court.
Poor Lindsay Lohan must have spent all of her fortune.
While at the peak of her career, the young starlet fell for the thrill of cheap thrills, and partying isn't free. Between living the high life, and family dipping into her fortune, the tragically beautiful train-wreck is left without enough scratch to foot the bill, as required. While many of us might wonder where we'll come up with $50 to buy a needed car part for our jalopies, a celebrity unable to pay a $50,000 note must be a severe embarrassment.
Will Lindsay Lohan be sent to jail this time, for non-compliance?
Judge Elden Fox said he's giving LiLo the chance to salvage her career, and avoid being another celebrity “train wreck,†which seems rather kind. But sometimes, the most loving thing someone can do for a drug addict, is to leave them to their own consequences and the associated reality of their own choices. Maybe Judge Fox should look up the definition of “enabling.â€
Can Lindsay Lohan consider alternative treatment?
Judge Fox seems a reasonable sort, though. Another option for the young actress might be to just bite the bullet, and go to a non-celebrity rehab, amongst “common†drug addicts. If she doesn't at least take her treatment seriously enough to be insurable for future acting gigs, she only thinks she's broke now.
