In last night's interview with Robin Roberts, LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian opened up about their whirlwind romance that left them divorcing their spouses and shacking up together.
In a candid yet short segment on All Access Nashville, Rimes and Cibrian confronted the mean tabloids and the negativity surrounding their relationship in what was a tasteful interview.
"That's just not me. What happened is not who I am, period. But I do know how much I love him. So I've always said I don't live my life with regret. I can't" Rimes says (via CBS). Rimes and Cibrian met on the set of their Lifetime Movie, Northern Lights, where they say they fell in love. "You had two couples whose marriages didn't work who really stumbled upon each other and fell in love," Rimes continued.
Cibrian, who is usually a quiet guy, piped up in the interview, looking lovingly at his girlfriend of over a year. "The truth is that we're human beings. ... We make mistakes and we learn from them, but we're human. We fell in love,. We're talking about something that's over a year, year and-a-half old, really and we're still together and we're madly in love," he says (via CBS).
This situation is tricky because people do look at LeAnn Rimes as being a home-wrecker. We're not quite sure why Cibrian seems to get off the hook, but most of the blame has been on Rimes. Cibrian does have a point when he talks about the longevity of their relationship. It's not like the two had a fling, divorced their spouses, and then broke things off. Who are we to say what they feel and how they are to handle their lives? Was it an ideal situation? No. Should we let it go? Definitely.
