Demi Lovato has been accused of heavy drinking and having emotional, physical, and eating disorders which were so bad she had to enter rehab. Demi Lovato is even being accused of cutting herself! The Disney darling was obviously going through some difficulties following her public breakup from Jonas Bros.’ Joe Jonas but never did the public think Lovato was drinking or doing drugs until these explosive allegations came to light.
The general public loves to think that Demi Lovato and the other Disney kids are centered, religious, and prim and proper at all times. To see the reality all one has to do is look to Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Jamie Lynn Spears.
When Demi Lovato, 18, entered rehab because of “emotional and psychological issues,†the door to Hollywood’s rumor mill was flung open and all kinds of speculations started about what those “emotional and psychological issues†were. Source after source came out with claims Demi Lovato was doing some serious heavy drinking straight from the bottle and had even snorted cocaine “line after line like a pro – and she was 17 at the time.â€
Another source claimed Demi Lovato had been bullied while in school and the experience left her mentally and physically scarred. The person said, “She was bullied in school. She fought through eating disorders and has struggled with cutting. … Demi is taking control by getting help.â€
Demi Lovato’s rep has specifically addressed the heavy drinking and drugs claims but not the eating disorders or cutting claims. Spokesman Jesse Derris said, “Demi Lovato is not in treatment for drug or alcohol addiction. As we have said since she entered treatment last week, Demi decided to seek help for emotional and physical issues she has battled throughout her life.â€
It’s unfortunate that fame has taken Demi Lovato down this road. Even if we don’t know that heavy drinking, eating disorders and cutting were factors for in Lovato’s decision to enter rehab, we do know Demi is suffering through some serious emotional and physical problems. It’s really a shame because she is so talented and so young. Hopefully, Demi Lovato will leave rehab a healthier person. Fame can wait when one’s life is on the line.
