Kate Middleton and Prince William have something big to celebrate: their engagement! Prince William and Kate Middleton are set to marry next spring or summer. He proposed during vacation in Kenya and the engagement ring William gave Kate belonged to his mother, Princess Diana.
This is amazing news because there hasn’t been an actual all-out royal wedding for quite some time now. Considering the fact that Prince William and Kate Middleton have been together since 2001, this engagement is a little pass due to some. William and Kate had a minor split in 2007 but they worked things out and are headed down the aisle.
Throughout Prince William and Kate Middleton’s relationship there has been much doubt about whether or not Prince William would actually pop the question but he’s proved haters wrong. Then again could it be that William just feels a sense of duty to wed the woman he’s been with for the past decade? An interview which took place on November 16 sheds some insight.
Tom Bradby interviewed the couple and reported his thoughts on their engagement. Bradby said, "I think there are a lot of things that are very clear to me about William and Kate - they'll never get divorced. I'll eat my hat if they ever get divorced. I think they'd rather be miserable than get divorced; they understand their position in life is to stay together no matter what."
That statement in itself is a terrible one to make. Prince William and Kate Middleton knowing what their duties are is ridiculous when it comes to marriage. They should remained married because they want to work things out and not just because they want to remain miserable together. That’s like saying if either or both cheats, their spouse will just be content to remain in a loveless marriage that’s void of mutual respect. Ugh, whatever, maybe it’s a royalty thing.
Anyway, congratulations to Prince William’s engagement to Kate Middleton. Hopefully, they will marry next spring or summer because they love and respect each other and not because they feel it’s their duty to do so. What the heck kind of a reason is that to marry? It makes little sense here in the good ol’ USA!
