Kanye West 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' Album sells for $3.99 on Amazon.com

In an interesting marketing move, Kanye West has allowed copies of his new album "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" to sell for $3.99 each as a digital download on Amazon.com.  It's one of several seemingly smart promotional moves the rap star has used to get fans interested in the new album, although the reviews may give it all the boost it needs!

Currently, there are two copies of the new Kanye West album available for digital download at Amazon.com.  One is a basic 13-track version and sells for just $3.99.  The other version is selling for $7.99 and is the Deluxe version which includes Kanye West's 34-minute music video film "Runaway" and a special Digital Booklet as well.  It's up to fans if they want the video and booklet along with the impressive 13-tracks.

So was it a ridiculous move for Kanye to allow sales of his new album to be so low-priced at Amazon?  West is already a multi-millionaire and he's even been giving tracks away for free each "G.O.O.D. Friday" in order to promote his work.  He'll also have an upcoming CD on which he and Jay-Z collaborate.  Giving away music has become a growing trend and marketing move by several artists in the age of internet piracy.  With West doing this he got fans ready for the hot new album, and then priced it extremely low on Amazon.  Smart move because the buzz will help sell more copies to friends of friends even when the album is done selling at $3.99!

So far the reviews have been positive on West's new album which also features guest appearances from Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Kid Cudi, Pusha T and Raekwon.  This may be the crowning achievement in West's career and might even take him to that elusive Grammy for Best Album he's been close to grasping during his impressive career.
