It's been two years since the Jolie-Pitt clan have added to their family, and it seems that they may add another in the future.
Angelina Jolie opened up to Larry King on Wednesday's Larry King Live about her decision not to close the door on having more children either via adoption or via carrying them herself. The 35-year-old actress admitted that they have "no plans at the moment" to add another child to the family, "But we're always open [to the idea]," she admitted.
So what exactly does this mean for the Jolie-Pitt family? Not much, really. Just like any other family the door hasn't been closed on extending their home and hearts to another child be it adopted or biologically theirs. I think this is a good thing as they are still a fairly young couple and have a good number of child-bearing years ahead of them. Adoption lengthens the time they can open their doors to another child and gives a child in need a very loving home.
While some may frown upon the number of children they have and presume that they hand the kids off to nannies all day, it doesn't seem that's the case here. In many photos of the family out and about either the parents or the grandparents have been with them rather than nannies. That's not to say they don't rely at least somewhat on hired help to care for the kids, but rather that they are active parents and that's what the children need most.
It also seems they do very well to both protect and make sure the children are not scared of the photographers that follow them. "Well, we try not to get them into the middle of it," she explained. "We try to get them around things and under things [to hide from paparazzi]." She went on to say what happens if the paparazzi are successful in getting photos of the children. We just have to kind of smile and say, 'Don't worry, it's not scary. They just like to take pictures...As a parent, the only thing you can do is try to make sure that they don’t feel it's a threat, you don't act like it's a threat, and you just keep smiling so they don’t feel anything negative."
It seems that's the most logical way to handle the situation. Granted each parent and each star has their own method and none is more right or wrong than the other, the bottom line is that the children need to feel secure, and telling them they just like to take pictures is not a scary thing at all to a child.
We think should Angelina and Brad add to their family that it'd be a wonderful decision and that they'd handle the seventh child well. That's not to say they should go whole hog and adopt numerous children, though. There's a limit to how much anyone can spread themselves when it comes to children to care for and love.
What do you think? Should the family consider another child or should they stop at six?
