Shania Twain Marries the Ex-Husband of Her Ex-Husband's Mistress

Shania Twain celebrated the first day of the new year in a very special way.  She got married.  The 45-year old five time Grammy winning country star tied the knot with Frederic Thiebaud, an executive at Swiss Nestle in a quintessentially romantic setting:  "sunset in Rincon, Puerto Rico, in front of forty of their closest family and friends."

According to Popeater, Twain and Thiebaud dated for over a year and became  engaged two months ago.  In her online engagement announcement, Twain called Thiebaud  "a true gift to me as a compassionate, understanding friend and over time, an amazing love..."

Oddly enough, the amazing love that developed between Twain and her new husband happened only because Twain's former husband, music producer Robert Lange, dumped her for her best friend, Marie-Anne Thiebaud.  Yes, that's right.  Twain's ex-husband left her for her new husband's first wife.  Apparently, the shock and depression they both felt after losing their respective spouses eventually brought Twain and Frederic together--first as friends and finally as lovers and spouses.  How's that for an O. Henry-esque happy ending?

Although Robert Lange and Marie-Anne Thiebaud swore that no physical improprieties occurred between them, they were caught "vacationing together in Canada, New York City, and Florida" in 2009.  Interestingly enough, Lange's and Thiebaud's "adultery" turned out to be a good thing.  Obviously, these four people were never meant to be married to their original spouses.  They changed partners, and it all worked out for all four of them.
