Hugh Hefner's engagement ring to Playmate Crystal Harris cost $90,000. That's a lot of bling and cha-ching for the Playboy bride-to-be. With a huge age-gap between them, is there really love, or strategic financial planning?
The 84-year-old Playboy himself is known for his media empire, lavish parties, historic mansion, and string of women.  After all, he is the proverbial Casanova, pimp-daddy, big-poppa, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.  After having a 50-year bachelor's party, Hefner said it was time to settle down, for the third time.
He decided to spend the rest of his days with his longtime girlfriend, Crystal Harris who he proposed to, recently. Â Because he does everything big, Hugh Hefner presented an engagement ring costing $90,000, to Crystal Harris as a show of his love. Â Since he's 84, the ring cost a little over $1K for every year of his life.
Hefner said his longtime secretary, Mary O'Connor, helped to pick out the large, tricked-out engagement ring. Â Here's what Crystal Harris said about the stone:
"I picked out the diamond with Mary," Crystal said. "It all happened so fast and we're happy. Nothing's changed. Everything is the same."
Nothing's changed? Â Was she talking about the Hugh Hefner engagement ring for $90,000. After all, with that many Benjamins for a ring, things should be perfect. Â But what if she was referring to Hefner not changing his mind about getting married?
Think about it before the crying-foul responses go out. Â Hefner is 60 years older than Harris. Â That makes him old enough to be her great-great grandfather. Â Other than money, bling, cash, prestige, and the good life, what does a very hot 24-year-old see in a man of Hefner's age? Â Answer: Â Opportunity and the road to an early retirement.
Here's the deal-maker for Crystal Harris:  Although Hugh Hefner's engagement ring costing $90,000 was given to his fiancée, she has not signed a prenuptial agreement. Hopefully, his attorney has gotten wind of this, because the Playboy Mansion could soon be called the Playgirl Mansion.
