Rap star Gucci Mane has been sent to a psychiatric hospital by a judge. The rapper will have several tests conducted to see how competent he is mentally. Many of those who dislike hip hop music probably think most rappers are crazy though.
According to Access Atlanta, Radric Davis, also known as Gucci Mane, was in court on Monday. The Fulton County Superior Court Judge John Goger determined that Davis should go to Anchor Hospital. It's located near the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and has 111-beds inside the facility. This all comes as a result of Davis' attorney filing a "special plea of mental incompetency" over Gucci Mane's latest probation violation.
Gucci Mane (pictured via Wikipedia) has had a slew of legal problems over the years. Dating back to 2005, he's spent time in the Fulton County Jail for drug, aggravated assault, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges. He was arrested twice in the past year but never charged with a crime. One of his arrests in late 2010 involved a traffic stop and police having to use pepper spray to subdue him.
Now it will be up to the mental institution to determine if the rapper is crazy and can just violate probation or break laws as he chooses to. Of course, Gucci Mane and his legal team could always play some of his music for the court. He appears on at least one track titled "Krazy" with fellow rapper The Game. That may serve as the best evidence that Radric Davis is crazy and that he effectively makes others go crazy for his music.
