Jaime Pressly of 'My Name is Earl' Fame Arrested

Jaime Pressly of My Name is Earl fame was arrested late Wednesday night in Santa Monica. She was stopped for an "alleged traffic violation," after which she was arrested and taken to the police station.

According to Popeater, Pressly failed a field sobriety test administered at the scene. Police transported the actress to the Santa Monica jail. It is unknown whether she remains jailed or has been released.

One would think that celebrities would be exceedingly cautious of making stupid choices like driving drunk. If the fact that they are jeopardizing not only their own lives but the lives of those around them isn't enough to stop them from getting behind the wheel, it would seem their very public reputation would be well worth saving.

Jaime Pressly has a lot more at stake than just her notoriety as a actress, too. She is the mother of a 2-year-old boy, and wife of Simran Singh. She has lifetime responsibilities to her family.
