Either David Beckham is trying to populate a soccer field, or Victoria Beckham has a burning desire for a little girl. Whatever the motivation, the superstar British transplants have announced that they're expecting a fourth child.
"David and Victoria Beckham are delighted to confirm they are expecting their fourth child in the summer," their rep disclosed to People Magazine on Sunday.
The baby, whose exact due date and gender are unknown, will take his or her place amongst the Beckham clan, which currently consists of boys Brooklyn (11), Romeo (8), and Cruz (5.5).
So is Posh hoping for a sweet baby girl to dress up and attempt to balance out the household?
"Everyone keeps asking me if I would like to have a little girl and I think, at some point, if I am lucky enough to have another baby that would be great, If I am blessed enough," she was quoted as saying last year. Then again, I'm sure once you've had three boys, it's easy to want to stay inside your comfort zone and stick with what you know!
The Beckham family has seen it's share of change in recent years, having relocated from Europe and his time on both Manchester United and Real Madrid in 2007 to play for the Los Angeles Galaxy, in a bid some felt was to popularize soccer in the States. Now they'll face a new sort of change, adapting to life as a family of six!
That being said, they still seem to set the bar for celebrity couples, still very much in love after twelve years of marriage. After receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award from the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards, Beckham praised his wife, saying, "Of course, I want to thank my wife and my children. Not only has she given me three amazing boys... she is truly an inspiration for me every single day." Sweet, sensitive and sexy? Victoria Beckham is one lucky woman!
