Where there was formerly sorrow, the household of John Travolta and Kelly Preston in Ocala, Florida is now filled with joy, life, and, of course, baby smiles. That's because Travolta, 56, and Preston, 48, welcomed baby boy Benjamin into their lives just days before Thanksgiving on November 23.
"He's given the house a renewed spirit and purpose," Travolta told People Magazine. This is a huge shift from just a mere few years ago, when Travolta and Preston were blindsided by the death of their son, Jett.
So how is big sister, Ella Bleu, 10, handling the adjustment? After waiting "excitedly" outside the delivery room for her baby brother's arrival, she can now be caught giving him "big hugs" at home. Suffice it to say, she's as smitten as her parents.
"He's given us a new beginning," Preston told the magazine. And, if anyone deserved that, they did.
Congrats to John Travolta and Kelly Preston on their happy family!

I'm glad that there is finally some positive news for the Travolta/Preston family.
On another subject, and from one member to another (and from a regular contributor to Flickr Creative Commons), you're not allowed to hotlink to Flickr photos for commercial use (display content on Flickr servers within your content on Gather) ...even if the photo/image is in the public domain or made available under a Creative Commons license.
Also, the image you have used in this post specifically states in the license (which is clearly visible) that it cannot be used for commercial purposes...thus cannot be used legitimately on Gather, FYI. If you have any questions, please let me know. Â
Mike,
You can USE the photo commercially (unless the license specifies otherwise, as in this case), but you should always copy the image to your own host, and then provide attribution back to the rights-holder in the manner they have specified, or as required within the license.
Therefore the following is the correct manner in which to display Creative Commons/public domain images from Flickr:
- The image is displayed in your post on Gather.
- The image is stored on your own host (gather.com as an example).
- The citation/attribution on the post appears as TEXT, and links back to the Flickr page where the image originated.
- The citation on the post includes the contributors name (in text).
Linking only the image to the source (making the image 'clickable') is NOT enough to satisfy licensing requirements.I hope that helps!
In fact, technically, you should also include the type of license the image is used under and that should appear wherever the image does on the site.
"Flickr has embed code for using such photos on other sites."
Yes, they do, and that is commensurate with what I have stated above.
Use on Gather is considered a commercial application. Therefore, I would suggest that you contact the Flickr legal department for verification.
Mike,
To clarify, the HTML/BBCode provided for some images on Flickr is not a part of Creative Commons, and does not provide proper attribution pursuant to specific licensing requirements for images.
