How did Jenny McCarthy find her post-Jim Carrey boyfriend, Boston sports agent Paul Krepelka? It was actually pretty mundane for a celebrity. McCarthy and Krepelka met on a blind date.
According to People Magazine, McCarthy recently spoke with Ellen DeGeneres on Wednesday, and explained how she had asked her friends to set her up on some blind dates. It seems the first two or three didn't work out all too well. And then she met Krepelka. Her conversation with Ellen alludes to Jenny's sense of humor regarding the whole situation.
"The first blind dates were these really bizarre dudes that were like 'Do you know Sharon Stone?'" McCarthy explains. "And I'm sitting on a date going, 'Well, I know of her. I've seen her in movies.' 'Well, do you think you can get an autograph?' And I'm like 'Oh, my God.'"
It seems that blind date #5 was well worth the wait, however, since Jenny McCarthy and Paul Krepelka have now been dating for about five weeks and seem very happy together. She even joked with Ellen that the two "might already be engaged."
It would be interesting to know what Jim Carrey thinks of Jenny McCarthy's new guy and her new-found happiness so soon after the two split. Carrey seems like he has a bit of a dark side that makes some fans wonder if he's not always the funny, carefree guy he plays on-screen. Hopefully, he keeps his distance as well as all comments regarding McCarthy's new relationship to himself.
Congrats to Jenny McCarthy on reigniting the appeal of blind dates. Recently considered such a mundane way of meeting people, and long shoved to the side in favor of internet dating, they might once again resurface as a socially acceptable means of meeting a mate!
