The half sister of Oprah Winfrey says she turned down tabloid money and refused to tell the family's tale. One tabloid offered an enormous sum of money, but still she refused to talk.
According to a report from Popeater, Oprah announced on her talk show Monday that she has a secret half sister named Patricia. She introduced her half sister on her show and proceeded to tell the family story.
Both Patricia and Oprah share the same biological mother, Vernita Lee, who gave birth to Patricia when Oprah was nine years old. The half sisters met for the first time on Thanksgiving Day, but the entire scenario was somehow kept mum until just recently.
While on the show Monday, it was divulged that Patricia had turned down an exorbitant amount of money from a tabloid to tell the story of her famous sister. When Oprah asked her why she didn't accept the money and talk, her answer brought tears to both sister's eyes.
Patricia made it quite clear that she was afraid selling her information to the tabloid would hurt Oprah Winfrey. She didn't want to personally hurt her half sister or cause her career any harm.
Patricia appears to be a sincere woman who is interested only in the relationship she and her sister Oprah Winfrey can have. If the woman is in it for the money, she's certainly doing a good job of hiding that fact.
Did you see the interview on The Oprah Winfrey Show where Oprah introduced her half sister Patricia? Did you think Patricia seemed sincere regarding her intentions?
A source told Popeater that an article of the caliber the Oprah Winfrey half sister title would be could have earned Patricia a million dollars. Most believe the half sister did the admirable thing.
