Bristol Palin can't change son Tripp's last name--at least that's what Levi Johnston's manager says. Johnston's manager, Tank Johnson, says that is never going to happen.
According to a report from RadarOnline, Palin had changed her son Tripp's name from Johnston to Palin on her Facebook page, and says she has asked Levi Johnston a few times to give up his parental rights, after which she would legally change the boy's name. She even said to the media recently that Johnston had only spent a couple of days with the child since her gig on Dancing With the Stars.
Tank Johnson, speaking for a mum Levi Johnston, says that is simply not true. He claims Johnston has spent far more time than that with his son, but that he won't speak out in the media on the subject. He says Bristol Palin is making such claims, because "the Palins like to fight."
Why on earth is Levi Johnston making his wishes known by a manager? And what is he being "managed" for? It certainly doesn't appear as though the one-time Playgirl model actually has any kind of career that warrants a manager.
Certainly, some of the Palins like a good fight, but Bristol Palin seems to be a responsible young woman who is finally coming into her own. She has recently purchased a home in Arizona using her DWTS funds, and she plans to go to college, too.
Levi Johnston was perfectly happy to ride on the coattails of the Palins, when he and Bristol were together. Now, he simply badmouths them and refuses to acknowledge issues in person, speaking instead through a "manager."
It would seem if Levi definitely opposes Bristol Palin changing Tripp's name, he should perhaps make concrete plans to spend some quality time with his little boy. Instead, he seems more wrapped up in the notion that he appeared naked in a magazine and that makes him think and act like he's a superstar of sorts.
It will be interesting to see how this situation evolves. Will Bristol Palin be allowed to change Tripp's last name? Will Levi Johnston ever stop hiding behind his so-called manager? Will Sarah Palin add her two cents' worth to the entire situation?
And then, of course, there's the bottom line: does anyone really care?
