Cosmopolitan Defends Racy Shot of Lea Michele

over-exposing dress for her March 2011 cover. LeaÂ’s cleavage, as small as it was, was clearly visible.

WhatÂ’s the controversy about? Well, the issue parents have and have had with Michele is that the character she portrays on FOXÂ’s hit musical TV show, Glee, is a teenager. Thus, parents are concerned that LeaÂ’s on screen and off-screen persona is a role model for their children. In short, parents donÂ’t want a half naked former self-doubting woman flaunting her skinny goodness publicly.

However, CosmopolitanÂ’s spokesperson stated: "We're thrilled to feature Lea Michele on the March cover of Cosmopolitan and think she looks stunning. Michele is a grown woman and Cosmopolitan is a magazine is for adults."

What sort of constricted world are these parents living in?

Instead of hyperventilating about magazine covers and fictional television characters, they would do well to consider advising their kids that they don't need "role models" at all, and there is virtue in thinking for one's self.

And... scroll up and look at that cover again. Is she "half naked?" Better stay away from the beach lest kids fall victim to the corrupting influences of women in bathing suits.

Parents are using Glee characters as models? Teenage mother who wasn't sure who the father was, one trying to figure out who do give virginty do (above character), gay bashing, sex scenes ect....this is an adult show, not a kids show.
and the mag, hello..cosmo is sex and fashion..why they handing over a mag that has how to give your man the best blowjob on cover (maybe not exact words, but ya get the drift)

She is 24 and an actress. What's the problem? If parents took the time to actually parent instead of allowing their kids to be raised by the TV there wouldn't be this controversy.

To me, it's more that she is representing the show. If she wants to pose like this, fine....but then don't play a 15 yr old character....this isn't appropiate to represent the show.

Other actors and actresses on TV shows do have some items written in their contacts about what is and what is not appropiate. Athletes have that too....there have been athletes suppended or fined for doing things or posing in ways that are negative to the sport they play.

but the show isn't for kids, really. You had the wife faking her pregnancy, you had the one girl not admitting who the father of her baby really was, you got a woman "settling" for a guy provided she didn't have to live with him, sleep with him or be seen in public with him....and Cosmo is definitely_not_ for kids.....
plus as they like to say, this is a "teachable moment". You could show the kids, yes this person plays this part on tv, but she is an actress, that is her job. She's not 15, she's 24. And in reality, should she (or any other actress or actor) be a role model for kids?
