Ashlee Simpson Files for Divorce From Husband Pete Wentz

In a move no one saw coming, Ashlee Simpson has filed for divorce. The young mom has filed the paperwork in L.A. Superior Court to split from her husband, rocker Pete Wentz.

 

TMZ is claiming that Ashlee is citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce. Ashlee and Pete were married in May 2008. The couple has one child together, two-year-old, Bronx. Ashlee will seek joint legal and primary physical custody of the toddler.

Ashlee is also seeking spousal and child support. Apparently, the couple didnÂ’t have a pre-nup. Pete makes his living as a singer in the group, Fall Out Boy. He dabbles in several other things, though. Aside from writing music, he also is the author of a book. The book, The Boy With the Thorn in his Side, is based on nightmares he experienced as a child. Wentz also has a film production company called Bartskull Films. Ashlee, though achieving a bit of success with her singing career, obviously doesnÂ’t measure up financially to her soon to be ex-husband.

Did anyone see this coming? Ashlee and Pete always seemed like one of the happier couples of Hollywood. You really donÂ’t hear stories about the couple arguing or having problems. They hid their problems well.
