Baseball player Coco Crisp has been arrested. The Oakland Athletics outfielder was taken into custody early Wednesday morning on suspicions of DUI. He's currently in Phoenix for spring training and was released from jail today, just in time to meet up with his team and face the Indians for a ballgame.
TMZ confirms the report, also adding that the athlete was hanging out with Charlie Sheen a couple of weeks ago. Coincidence? Maybe. No word on if Crisp, a former Boston Red Sox player, will face any sort of suspension.
TMZ also reported that Crisp was cruising in a 2009 Rolls Royce Phantom, which is a pretty sweet ride--perhaps too sweet to be driving when you're intoxicated. He's just another athlete (and celebrity) to join the ever-growing list of DUI offenders. Hopefully, he is suspended or has to face some sort of consequence for his actions, once the ball club gets all of the details. It's so lame that celebs get off, all the time!
