Kanye West made an only somewhat surprising announcement today, when he confirmed rumors that he would be playing at this year's SXSW festival.
Though suspicions were high that the rapper and producer would be making a pit stop in Austin as part of the week and a half long festival, the confirmation was a welcome one, given the sheer enormity of venues and acts that have flooded into the "live music capitol of the world."
The announcement was made via an "All of the Lights" inspired video that Kanye released, featuring a montage of his recent career and gig highlights. The video ends with the words "Austin," followed by the apparent date, time, and place of the event, which will take place Saturday night at 11:59 p.m. at Vevo Power Station.
This isn't Kanye's first run at SXSW, either. He was the surprise guest two years back at Levi's Fader Fort their closing night, and brought the house down with tracks like "Stronger" and "Golddigger."
Will you be attending the Kanye West show at South By?
