'Teen Mom 2's' Megan Nelson Pregnant

Megan Nelson, former roommate and best friend to Teen Mom 2 star Chelsea Houska, is pregnant. The 18-year-old is expecting a baby boy on July 7.

According to a report from Life & Style Magazine, Megan is not a series regular, and MTV has no plans in place for making her one. Her friend Danielle Jamie thinks this is a good idea, and acknowledges that Megan isn't interested in living her life with her baby in the limelight.

"She wants the baby to live a normal life," Danielle says of Megan Nelson. "She's nervous and excited about being a mother. Chelsea was shocked -- but she's excited for Megan too."

It's refreshing to hear that Megan Nelson doesn't want to raise her baby on TV, although it's a bit disconcerting that she even became pregnant after watching the struggles Teen Mom 2 Chelsea Houska experienced while having a baby so young. Chelsea even remarked, following the announcement of Megan's pregnancy, that she had hoped her time on 16 and Pregnant, as well as Teen Mom 2 might have served as "cautionary tales."

Such was not the case, however, and now another young woman is expecting a baby. Sadly, even though Chelsea Houska had hoped Megan Nelson would learn from her struggles, some teens see the media spotlight aimed at the stars of Teen Mom 2 to be way too tempting a lure. Hopefully Megan can ignore that lure and put the spotlight far away on that proverbial back burner. There will be no time for it. Megan Nelson will soon have a baby to raise.
