Emma Watson has spent the better part of a decade on her role as Hermione Granger, the quick-witted, intellectually sharp female contribution to the Harry Potter trio, but now that filming on the final film - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II due out July 15 - has wrapped, it's back to real life for the actress.
Watson, who turns 21 on Friday (the same day that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I is released on DVD!), left her studies at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, to fulfill her filming and promotion obligations. Though it may have been a bit of an inconvenience for her academically, rest assured that the millions she has made during her starring role in the Harry Potter franchise made it an easy decision!
"I just knew I was going to be beating myself up because I wasn't going to be able to be doing the best that I knew that I could at school or in my job," she said in an interview with the Associated Press earlier this month. "If I'd been getting B's or C's I would've been really upset."
That being said, with filming wrapped and obligations for promotion not extending past the mid-summer release date for the film, Ms. Watson will be returning to Brown in the fall, ready to get back to her studies and pursue not only a degree, but a chance at a life out of the spotlight - at least until she gets her next Blockbuster role!
Chances are, however, that Emma Watson will never entirely be out of the spotlight - what, with the Harry Potter franchise being a classic that will be passed down for generations to come, as well as her stunning beauty as she's grown older. And besides, she may be just another student at Brown, but her peers surely recognize her as different from the masses!
