Bret Easton Ellis, best known for being the author of American Psycho, had something very psycho to say about the hit TV series Glee.
The man who most recently attracted attention to himself by saying that Charlie Sheen is “Winning” took to Twitter to ask the world the following: "I like the idea of Glee but why is it that every time I watch an episode I feel like I've stepped into a puddle of HIV?"
Here’s the answer: because he is a fool that uses some pretty ignorant imagery for an author.
So why would he say such a thing? Well, the man really hasn’t been able to replicate the success of American Psycho, so he’s got to get attention and stay relevant somehow -- he did try with the whole Charlie Sheen thing (seems like he might be a bit like his arrogant sociopathic character). Plus when someone has been successful in the entertainment world but has kind of fallen off the map, it really has to hurt to see something they despise to succeed when they no longer can.
And even when people give reference on American Psycho these days, itÂ’s not Bret Easton EllisÂ’ book that theyÂ’re talking about, but the movie starring Christian Bale (or how much Kourtney KardashianÂ’s man Scott Disick resembles his character in it).
Unfortunately for Bret Easton Ellis, the entertainment world has changed. Sure it’s not always for the better, but Glee is a fun, upbeat show that embraces the kids that sometimes get picked on or feel they don’t fit in (and that is everything that his American Psycho character is not), and attacking it in such an ignorant way isn’t going to help him sell any books. (Just wait until Ryan Murphy gets wind of his tweet...)
