Some very scary moments for Ali Fedotowsky over the weekend, when a kayak she was in flipped over. The former Bachelorette star wound up getting several staples in her head as a result of the accident, but she's said to be "fine" now and back at work. Ouch!
According to Us Weekly, Ali Fedotowsky was with her fiance Roberto Martinez when the accident happened. The couple were enjoying a kayaking trip in La Jolla, California, on Sunday, when her kayak capsized. Fortunately, she wasn't alone - righting a flipped kayak can be extremely difficult do to on your own. Depending on the situation, it can be nearly impossible without help.
Ali Fedotowsky was treated for an apparent head injury at a nearby hospital. A rep says she "had 5 staples put in her head." That was some cut! The reality star (and current San Diego TV correspondent) took to her Twitter account today to thank all for their concerns, adding that she has a "big headache" but she was able to camouflage the staples with her "hair part." She also added that she will be "Wearing a helmet next time."
Anyone who kayaks will tell you that things can go bad quickly. If you capsize, you run the risk of striking your head on rocks and debris. A helmet is a must! Thankfully, Ali's okay and hopefully she's learned her lesson about helmets, albeit the hard way.
